Terms of service
These terms cover your use of PassBundle's hosted service and of the PassBundle apps with it. "PassBundle", "we", and "us" mean the people who make and run PassBundle. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. Our privacy policy explains what we do with your data.
PassBundle is in development. The hosted service isn't open yet, and until it is, anything you try is a preview that may change, lose data, or stop working. Keep your own export of anything that matters.
The software is open source
PassBundle's apps are licensed under the GNU General Public License v3, and its server under the GNU Affero General Public License v3. Those licenses govern the code, including if you run your own server, and nothing in these terms limits your rights under them. These terms cover the service we run.
Your account and master password
- You're responsible for your account and for keeping your master password safe. Use a strong one, and turn on two-step login.
- Your vault is end-to-end encrypted. We can't see your master password and can't recover your vault if you forget it, unless an organization you belong to has turned on account recovery.
- Give accurate information when you sign up, and keep your email address current so you get security notices.
Organizations and MSPs
- An organization's owners and admins control its members, policies, and shared items, and can remove you from it. Items you save in an organization belong to it.
- If you're a managed service provider (MSP), you're responsible for having your clients' permission to manage their organizations, for what your staff do in them, and for telling clients' people what you can see and do, such as account recovery.
- A client organization can remove its MSP at any time, which removes all of the MSP's staff from it.
Acceptable use
Don't use PassBundle to break the law or to harm others. In particular, don't:
- try to get into accounts, vaults, or systems that aren't yours, or test the service's security without following our security policy;
- disrupt or overload the service, or get around its limits;
- store or share content you have no right to, or use the service to distribute malware or spam.
Changes and availability
We work to keep the service running and your data safe, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may change features or these terms. We'll post changes here and update the date above, and tell you before a change that matters takes effect. If you don't agree with a change, you can export your data and close your account.
Ending your account
You can export your vault and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or that we must close by law. Unless there's a reason we can't, we'll tell you first and give you a chance to export your data.
Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data, profits, or business, and our total liability for any claim about the service is limited to what you paid us for it in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
